I had an absolute blast shooting pics of the 2014 Detroit Heart Walk. In spite of a little rain, so many people come out to support this great cause. If you don’t support the Heart Association yet, do so!

This year in the Kids’ Zone (sponsored by 5/3rd Bank), volunteers handed out red “Heart Hero” capes.

Today’s shoot with Paul was incredible. I’m very excited about the quality of the images we were able to capture. I discovered a couple of new locations perfect for shooting all kinds of portraits (modeling, senior pics, headshots, etc.). I really love the perspective my 35mm lens gave us. It really let me shrink that depth of field and come in nice and close for some intense expressions. We also captured some great full length images. It was wicked windy today which actually worked out well. The movement of his scarf brought life to the poses. Paul is a natural and really knows instinctively how to perform for the camera. I look forward to many more shoots with this incredibly talented new model.

I’ve just begun shooting for a new Martial Arts Training facility called Final Round in Ann Arbor. Tomorrow I am shooting the last instructor photo before the dojo opens. These photos were taken the same day that Paul and I went out in the rain. I was forced to use the fluorescent lighting in the gym, but I’m pretty pleased with the results. As we keep shooting once the equipment is installed, I’ll bring in some lighting and shoot them properly. I’m also on board to shoot their programs to replace the stock images on their site. Stayed tuned for more advertising and web design shoots. Here’s what we have so far for the instructor photos.

After weeks of planning, Paul and I had to deal with below freezing temperatures and rain. In spite of the weather, we managed to get some great shots.
